Can you import a sketch into Mozaik?

What Mozaik imports today

• Laser Import. Measurements from supported laser measuring systems come in directly. Mozaik's own training library covers the feature. If your shop measures with a laser rig on every site, this is the transcription-free path, at the price of the hardware and the habit.
• Job and room files. Mozaik opens its own jobs, naturally, which matters more than it sounds, because a file that already contains the room shape is a legitimate import route, not just a save format. Saved template jobs for repeated room shapes work this way, and so does the tool we describe below.
• Component geometry. Mozaik supports custom SketchUp-modeled parts (custom doors are the well-known case). That is part-level geometry, though. It is not a way to bring in a room layout.

What stays manual

The paper field sketch, still how most kitchens are actually measured, has no direct route in. The walls, ceiling height and openings on that sketch get re-keyed in the Room tab, value by value. That workflow is entirely workable when the sketch is complete and the transcription is disciplined; we wrote the field checklist and the error-catching entry order up separately in how to digitize a hand-drawn kitchen sketch for Mozaik. The room-template route

The second bullet above is the interesting one. Mozaik will happily open a room somebody else built, so a tool that turns your sketch into a ready-built room file is a sketch import, even though Mozaik itself never looks at the image. That is exactly what KitchenCNC Sketch Intake for Mozaik, a companion tool, does: photograph the hand-drawn sketch, confirm each number it reads (recognition pre-fills, you approve; these values end up in cut files), and it generates a Mozaik room file with walls, corners and openings in place, ready for cabinet placement.

Where that stands, plainly: it is released, $20 a month, Windows only, because Mozaik is. It doesn't replace Mozaik; the room shows up in the job list you already use. The generated files are validated against a real Mozaik v14.1.14 install. Closed rooms and open wall runs both open with their walls and openings intact and take cabinets normally.
