If you just browse this site

Reading this site, watching the demo, and running the parts list in your browser all happen without you telling us who you are. The demo is computed on your own device and never sent to us. The free takeoff tool at /takeoff is the same: it runs entirely in your browser and sends us nothing.

There are two forms on the site, and neither runs unless you fill it in: the access form described next, and the newsletter box in the footer, which takes an email address and nothing else. If you use neither, the only thing we get is the anonymous page-view count described below.

If you ask for access

Getting into KitchenCNC costs an email address and a phone number, and optionally the name of your shop. There is no charge and no card. We store those three things in our database, together with the date and which page you filled the form in on.

What the phone number is for. So a person here can reach you about getting set up, and about anything that goes wrong while you are using it. This is early software and we would rather hear it from you than read it in a log. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not run marketing text message campaigns. If you would rather we only ever emailed you, say so and we will note it.

How to get it deleted. Email us and we remove the whole row, number included. There is no automatic expiry on this list today: it sits in our database until you ask, or until we have a reason to clear it. We would rather tell you that than quote you a retention period we do not actually enforce.

The newsletter box in the footer is separate and takes only an email address. Every newsletter we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it stops the emails without you having to ask anyone.

If you use the app

The app at app.kitchencnc.com signs you in with Google. We receive your email address and basic profile from Google in order to identify your account. We never see your Google password. The sign-in happens on Google's servers, not ours, and you can revoke our access at any time from your Google account settings.

Kitchen designs and CNC jobs you create are stored so you can come back to them. They belong to you.

Analytics

This site uses PostHog to count page views and see which parts of the site people actually use. It sets a first-party cookie so that two visits from the same browser are not counted as two different people. That cookie stays on this site. It cannot be read by anyone else, and we do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers.

We do not record your screen. On this site nobody signs in, so PostHog holds no profile of you, just anonymous counts. If you would rather not be counted at all, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will block it, and nothing on the site stops working.

The app at app.kitchencnc.com now uses PostHog too, and it is worth being precise about what for: it measures how fast the 3D kitchen loads and runs: timings, frame counts and how long a design takes to build. It does not record what you designed. No kitchen names, no cabinet data, no dimensions and no free text are ever sent. We route those measurements through our own domain rather than calling PostHog directly, which means an ad blocker does not skew the numbers; it does not mean the data goes anywhere different.

Who else touches your data

Only the services that make the product run: Vercel hosts the site and the app, Neon hosts the database (which is where your access request and its phone number are stored), PostHog counts the traffic and measures how fast the 3D kitchen runs, Google handles sign-in for the app, Resend sends our email, Stripe takes payment for the Mozaik plugin, and Sentry records error reports when something breaks. Nobody else.

Two things worth being precise about, because people reasonably assume otherwise. PostHog does not receive your phone number or your email address. It counts page views and measures how fast the 3D kitchen runs, and the access form does not send it what you typed. And nothing on this list is an advertising network; there are no ad pixels on this site at all.

One exception we would rather not have: the documentation pages under /docs load their typefaces from Google’s font CDN, so opening one tells Google your IP address. The rest of the site serves its fonts from our own domain and does not. We are moving the docs to match; until then it is true, so it is written here.

Two of those deserve a sentence of their own. Stripe handles your card details directly. We never see or store a card number. Sentry receives a technical description of a crash (the error, the file and line, the browser) so we can fix it; your kitchen designs are not attached to those reports.

Sharing a design with your client

A shop can create a link that lets a homeowner see one kitchen in 3D and approve it, without an account. Two things follow from that, and both are deliberate. The link contains a long random code. Anyone holding it can open that one kitchen, so treat it like a document you emailed. And that page shows only the kitchen and the shop's name: never parts, cut files, pricing, other designs, or anything about the shop's other customers.

If a homeowner approves, we record the name they typed, their optional comment and the time, and we tell the shop. Links expire after 90 days and a shop can switch one off at any moment, which takes effect immediately.

Email hello@kitchencnc.com. Ask for a copy of what we hold or for it to be deleted and we will do it. That includes your phone number, and it is a person doing it, not a form.
